Le (la) candidat/e recherché/e doit démontrer qu'il (elle) comprend bien la complexité des sols et leur interaction, l'irrigation,
la pathologie des plantes, l'entomologie, la fertilité des plantes et l'hydrologie du drainage. En outre, il (elle) doit posséder une
très bonne connaissance de l'utilisation sans risque des herbicides, pesticides, fongicides et tout autres produits
généralement appliqués sur les terrains de golf. Il (elle) doit aussi être familier avec l'utilisation de tout outillage ou
équipement et machinerie utilisés pour l'entretien d'un terrain de golf. De plus, le surintendant doit posséder les compétences
nécessaires à la gestion du personnel, l'organization du travail, les achats et la gestion financière de son service. Dynamique,
créatif et bon communicateur, Le surintendant doit également s'occuper avec compétence de tout ce qui est relié au
parcours, tels sentiers, arbres, fleurs, édifices, étangs, et autres aménagements. La connaissance du golf est aussi un atout
important.

Les responsabilités
De manière générale, la première responsabilité du surintendant consiste à offrir aux golfeurs les meilleures conditions de jeu
possible, dans l'environnement le plus agréable qui soit. Les responsabilités du surintendant sont principalement, sans y être
limitées:
• La gestion de toutes les zones de jeu, qui comprend les tertres de départ, les allées, l'herbe longue et les verts;
• La gestion des terrains autour de la zone de jeu, qui comprend les entrées, les parcs de stationnement, le vert de pratique
et le champ d'exercice.
• Tout l'aménagement paysager, y compris la planification, la plantation et l'émondage;
• Toutes les structures du parcours de golf, qui comprend les édifices, les clôtures, les ponts et les abris;
• La gestion et l'entretien de tout l'équipement et outillage du parcours;
• L'achat, l'entreposage et la gestion de l'inventaire de stocks;
• La gestion du personnel du parcours, incluant, la sélection, l'engagement, l'évaluation de la performance, la formation, la
supervision, la discipline et le congédiement;
• La gestion financière du budget du parcours, incluant la préparation, le suivi et l'analyse comparative;
• La gestion des dossiers du parcours, comprenant la gestion financière, les conditions atmosphériques, l'utilisation de
l'équipement et les inventaires.

Le candidat choisi répondra directement au directeur général et travaillera en étroite collaboration avec le responsable du
comité du parcours. Il assistera à toutes les réunions du comité parcours et pourra être appelé à faire des présentations au
conseil d'administration et à L,assemblÉe des membres.

Formation et expérience de travail :
• Diplômé, d'un collège ou d'une université, reconnue dans les aspects techniques et administratifs de la profession de
surintendant.
• Expérience d'au moins trois (3) ans à titre de surintendant de parcours de golf ;
• Être membre de l'Association des Surintendants ASGQ.
Conditions et cadre de l'exercice du travail :
• Il s'agit d'un travail à horaire variable qui demande de longues heures durant la haute saison (le soir, les fins de semaine, les
jours fériés) ;
• La rémunération est conforme aux normes en vigueur.

Camelot Golf & Country Club is currently seeking an individual for the position of
Second Assistant Superintendent.

Camelot Golf & Country Club is a private 18 hole course designed by Thomas McBroom and is located 15 minutes east of
downtown Ottawa. Opened in 1991, Camelot was rated the 2nd best new golf course in Canada and 5th best in North
America. In 2012, Camelot will be the host of the Men's Canadian Amateur.

The position will require the successful candidate to be a leader, motivator and well organized to complete various tasks on
their own as well as part of a team.

Duties Will Include:

• Aid in the supervision of maintenance staff
• Maintain and repair irrigation system
• Apply fertilizers and pesticides and maintain IPM records


Candidates Shall Possess:

• Experience in turf management.
• Valid Landscape Exterminator Licence
• Strong knowledge of turfgrass management practices.
• Ability to follow Camelot's health & safety programs.

Scope of Position
The Mechanic will report to the Golf Course Superintendent. This individual will be responsible for the repair and
maintenance of equipment, daily maintenance records, and purchase orders for necessary inventory. The Mechanic will
ensure that safety is a top priority, and is responsible for maintaining a clean service area and maintenance building.

Job Responsibilities
• Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot and repair mechanical failures in various Golf course Equipment including diesel, electric,
and gasoline-powered equipment.
• Repair and maintain all turf equipment and golf carts in our fully equipped maintenance facility.
• Keep all machinery, tools and service equipment in safe working order.
• Keep detailed records of scheduled and completed equipment maintenance and repair for all equipment.
• Manage the purchasing procedures of parts as per approved suppliers and purchasing guidelines.
• Instruct and/or train golf course maintenance staff on preventative maintenance and cleaning procedures.

Qualifications
• Experience in engine repair, hydraulic systems, electrical systems and reel grinding.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Familiar with budgeting, maintenance scheduling and maintenance record keeping.
• Suitable for a Class “A” mechanic
